Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to bookings made with CPD on the Sea Pty Ltd for CPD events conducted in connection with cruise travel. By registering, paying a deposit or registration amount, or attending a CPD on the Sea event, you agree to these Terms, along with any voyage-specific booking page, invoice, confirmation email, itinerary, and any applicable cruise line or travel supplier terms.
1. About Your Booking
CPD on the Sea coordinates a combined booking pathway that includes:
-
A CPD event component arranged by CPD on the Sea
-
A cruise travel component arranged through the cruise operator or its nominated booking representative
Your upfront payment to CPD on the Sea will usually include both the CPD component and an amount to be applied toward the initial cruise deposit. Once the initial booking step has been completed on your behalf, the remaining cruise fare and any travel add-ons are payable directly to the cruise operator or its nominated booking representative, unless otherwise stated in writing. Cruise travel is always subject to the cruise operator’s own terms, conditions, deadlines, pricing and cancellation rules.
2. Registration and Booking Process
Bookings are made through our website and are completed by submitting the required registration details and payment through the booking process for the relevant voyage. This may include an invoice, payment link, or integrated online registration and payment system.
You must provide accurate, current and complete information when registering. We may decline or cancel a registration where information is incomplete, payment is not received, capacity has been reached, or the booking is considered unsuitable or impracticable to proceed.
3. When a Booking is Confirmed
A booking is considered finalised once:
-
The required deposit or upfront payment has been paid to CPD on the Sea, and
-
We have issued your booking reference number after completing the initial cruise booking step on your behalf
Until a booking is finalised, your place is not guaranteed unless we confirm otherwise in writing.
4. Pricing and Payment
Website pricing is current at the time of publication only. Prices may vary between voyages and may change depending on factors such as departure date, cruise selected, cabin or suite category, number of passengers, inclusions selected, supplier pricing movements, taxes and charges.
The upfront amount paid to CPD on the Sea will be outlined in the booking materials for the relevant voyage. This amount will ordinarily include:
-
The CPD fee for one participant
-
An amount allocated toward the initial cruise deposit
We will provide an itemised invoice showing the CPD fee and any separate amount payable to or collected by us in connection with the initial cruise booking.
If a second travelling guest also wishes to attend the CPD event, a separate CPD fee may apply.
After the initial cruise booking has been completed, the remaining cruise fare and any further supplier payments must be paid directly to the cruise operator or its nominated booking representative by their stated deadlines. Failure to meet those deadlines may result in supplier cancellation fees, loss of cabin allocation, or cancellation of travel arrangements.
CPD on the Sea does not provide taxation advice and does not guarantee that any amount will be tax-deductible. Participants should seek independent advice from a qualified accountant or adviser.
5. Inclusions and Exclusions
Unless otherwise stated for a specific voyage, a CPD on the Sea booking is intended to include the CPD component for one participant only.
Depending on the voyage, event-specific materials may include:
-
Presenter materials issued before departure
-
Catered breaks associated with CPD sessions
-
Selected hosted functions or welcome items were stated
Cruise accommodation and standard onboard meals are governed by the travel booking made with the cruise operator and depend on the cabin type and passenger arrangements selected. In most cases, the cruise fare component is based on twin-share accommodation for two passengers, unless otherwise stated.
Unless expressly listed as included, the following are excluded:
-
Transfers to and from the departure port
-
Flights
-
Pre- or post-cruise accommodation
-
Travel insurance
-
Drinks packages
-
Internet access or onboard Wi-Fi packages
-
Shore excursions
-
Discretionary spending
-
Passport or visa costs
-
Any third-party service not expressly listed as included
Specific inclusions and exclusions should always be read together with the relevant event page, invoice, and supplier booking confirmation.
6. Participant Cancellation and Refunds
If you cancel after your booking has been finalised:
-
The cruise deposit component paid to CPD on the Sea is non-refundable in all circumstances
-
This amount will generally be $200, unless otherwise stated in the booking materials or invoice
Subject to this, the CPD fee component paid to CPD on the Sea will be held in credit for up to 12 months from the date of cancellation and may be applied toward a future CPD on the Sea event, subject to availability and any applicable price difference.
If that credit is not used within 12 months, CPD on the Sea will refund the unused CPD fee component less a 25% administration fee.
Any supplier charges, cruise line cancellation fees, or forfeited supplier payments are governed by the relevant supplier terms and are separate from the CPD fee component and the non-refundable cruise deposit component.
Because supplier cancellation penalties may increase over time, we strongly recommend obtaining suitable travel insurance as early as possible after booking.
7. Changes, Cancellation by Us and Events Beyond Our Control
CPD on the Sea may make reasonable changes to the program, speakers, session timing, room allocation, social inclusions or operational arrangements where required.
If CPD on the Sea cancels the relevant CPD event, the CPD fee component paid to us will be held in credit for up to 12 months and may be applied toward a future CPD on the Sea event, subject to availability and any applicable price difference. If unused within 12 months, that amount will be refunded less a 25% administration fee.
CPD on the Sea is not responsible for cruise-related cancellation fees, supplier charges or other amounts retained by the cruise operator or travel supplier.
If a presenter is unable to attend or deliver the scheduled training, CPD on the Sea may arrange alternative delivery of the training, including distance delivery, a replacement presenter, revised format, or substitute CPD content of comparable value. A presenter change does not automatically entitle a participant to cancel, transfer or obtain a refund.
If a voyage is cancelled, altered, postponed or otherwise affected by matters outside the reasonable control of CPD on the Sea, including decisions made by the cruise operator, government directions, weather events, public health events, industrial action or force majeure circumstances, any rights relating to the cruise component will be subject to the applicable supplier terms and decisions.
8. Accreditation and Certificates
The number of CPD hours available for a particular voyage may vary depending on the itinerary, final program and content delivered.
Where advertised, events will be accredited as continuing professional development, and an attendance certificate will be provided following completion, subject to any attendance or participation requirements.
CPD on the Sea does not guarantee that every participant will be eligible to claim a particular number of CPD hours unless this is expressly stated for the relevant voyage and the participant meets all applicable requirements.
9. Participant Responsibilities
Participants and guests must provide valid identification. A valid passport may be required for cruises that enter international waters or for itineraries where the cruise operator requires it.
Participants are responsible for:
-
Checking and satisfying all passport, identification, visa, health and travel entry requirements
-
Arriving in sufficient time to meet embarkation, check-in and supplier boarding requirements
-
Advising us of any accessibility, mobility, dietary or support requirements as soon as reasonably practicable
Participants are expected to behave in a professional, respectful and courteous manner. CPD on the Sea may remove or exclude a participant from the CPD component if their conduct is unsafe, disruptive, unlawful, harassing, seriously inappropriate, or inconsistent with the professional standards expected at the event.
All participants must also comply with the cruise operator’s rules, policies and directions while travelling.
10. Health, Safety and Medical Matters
Participants are responsible for ensuring they are fit to travel and fit to participate in the event. CPD on the Sea does not provide medical advice and does not assess a participant’s fitness to cruise.
Participants are responsible for bringing all required medications, medical supplies and health documentation. Onboard medical services are provided by the cruise operator, not CPD on the Sea, and any associated costs remain the participant’s responsibility unless otherwise covered by insurance or supplier arrangements.
11. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that every participant and guest obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, supplier default where available, travel disruption, illness, medical expenses and other unexpected events.
Travel insurance is not included unless expressly stated otherwise.
12. Photography, Video and Recording
Attendance at a CPD on the Sea event may involve incidental photography or video for marketing, promotional, social media or future event materials.
By attending, you acknowledge that such photography or video may be taken and used by us unless you notify us that you wish to opt out. We will take reasonable steps to respect opt-out requests notified in advance or at the event.
Participants must not film, photograph, livestream, record or otherwise capture CPD sessions, materials or presenter content unless expressly authorised by CPD on the Sea in writing.
13. Privacy

14. Intellectual Property
Presenter materials, slides, handouts and other CPD content remain the intellectual property of the relevant presenter, CPD on the Sea, or the applicable rights holder unless otherwise stated.
Materials supplied to participants are for personal professional use only and must not be copied, reproduced, distributed, sold, uploaded, shared publicly or repurposed without permission.
15. Liability and Disclaimers
The CPD content provided is educational in nature and is not individual legal, clinical, medical or other professional advice tailored to any participant’s circumstances.
Participation in the CPD component does not create a therapist-client, adviser-client or other professional relationship between CPD on the Sea, any presenter, and any participant.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CPD on the Sea is not liable for loss, damage, cost, delay, disappointment, inconvenience, missed connections, supplier default, itinerary changes, or other consequences arising from the acts or omissions of the cruise operator or other third-party suppliers. We are also not responsible for loss of or damage to personal belongings.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any consumer guarantees or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian law.
